Whenever I finish a big project, I like doing a postmortem. Hopefully, that’ll help me improve for the next thing. So, here are my final thoughts on what I think was a successful Link cosplay, along with the photos I took:

BotW Link Cosplay: The Quiver
Guys! This is the last part of my Link cosplay making-of series! I’ll have some final photos to share, but the costume is done. This one took awhile. But before I get ahead of myself, here’s how I made the quiver:
BotW Link Cosplay: The Bow
I’m a bit of an overachiever, so I tend to load work on myself at the last minute if I think I can pull it together. Such is the case with Link’s bow. I wasn’t planning on making it for GenCon due to time constraints, but I changed my mind when I saw a plain, wood weapon online. So, I bought and have since transformed it into the bow from Breath of the Wild. Here’s how:
BotW Link Cosplay: Accessories
In typical Link fashion, the BotW ensemble includes a variety of accessories. I’ve already written posts about the belt bag I made, but I’ve also worked on a few other things, including his cross-body belt and gloves.
BotW Link Cosplay: The Bracer
It’s worbla time! That’s right, I decided to make Link’s bracer out of worbla. I wasn’t originally planning to due to budget issues, but Arda wigs suddenly stocked new sheets of black worbla, including size small, so I could afford to buy a sheet. This was my first time using the material, and I was excited. Overall, it was a total blast! Here’s what I did:
BotW Link Cosplay: The Pants
When planning this cosplay, I assumed the pants would take awhile because they’re more complex than the other pieces. However, the whole process was actually a helluva lot of fun!
BotW Link Cosplay: Finishing the Tunic
Up until now, I’ve been calling this series “Wii U Link Cosplay,” but now that’s a little outdated. E3 was last week, and we learned that the new Zelda game is going to be called “Breath of the Wild.” So, from this post on, any blogs about my Link costume will be “BotW Link Cosplay.” I could go back and change all the old ones, but that sounds like unnecessary work. I did, however, change the name of the category.
But names aren’t why we’re here! Today, I’m sharing the finished tunic (cue the music for when Link opens a treasure chest).
Wii U Link Cosplay: Construction and Embellishment Part 2
Since last I left off on the tunic, I have attached the sleeves to the vest, finished the neck and hemlines, and just about wrapped up the embroidering. Stitching by hand has taken a long time, but I think the effort has been worth the results.
Wii U Link Cosplay: Cutting the Wig
I’ve been making good progress on Link’s tunic, but before I go into that, I wanted to share what I did with the wig! Cutting it was a nice break from the more rigorous work of sewing, and I had a lot of fun with it.

I’m back from the break I took to sew a dress, which means it’s time for a cosplay progress update!
In my last post about Link, I had finished a mockup. Since then, I’ve cut the actual fabric, did a test fit and started adding details. Check it out:
