When I think of a new project, I get really excited. However, my ambition and free time never seem to line up – that is to say, I have tons of sewing-project ideas on the back burning. But now that Impa and the cocktail dress are totally done (albeit with possible changes to make in the future), I can finally work through my to-do list. With that in mind, here’s what I have planned for the next year or so:
Since January, I’ve been working on cosplay. Since I finished the character, now I want to shift gears into fashion. I found some beautiful linen fabric that I’ll be making a line of pieces out of, starting with a dress.
I’ve shared my Impa cosplay, but I witnessed lots more that I wanted to show off. In addition to dressing as Impa, I wore a Marceline outfit from the episode of “Adventure Time” entitled “What Was Missing.” With that in mind, here are some of the photos I took of other cool cosplayers and my second ensemble:
I didn’t post every step of my Impa cosplay creation process, but the costume is 100 percent done! I wore it at GenCon, which took place last weekend, and received a pretty good response – lots of people took pictures and gave shouts outs.
This was my first cosplay, and now that it’s done, I want to review the work I did to hopefully learn. With that in mind, here’s my postmortem:
